Past Programs

Our past programs have been designed to assist business owners in improving their digital presence and reaching their full potential online. We have helped thousands of businesses of all sizes and industries improve their website design, search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, and online advertising strategies. These programs were implemented in collaboration with numerous stakeholders including the Government of Alberta, The University of Alberta, Community Futures, and many others.

Making Edmonton Digital

Making Edmonton Digital was created in the summer of 2020 as an initiative to help small businesses in Edmonton combat the immense impacts of COVID-19 through creating or enhancing their online presence. Student digital consultants from the University of Alberta work with businesses for up to 12 hours according to their needs to help raise customer awareness, and ultimately drive traffic to their online or physical storefronts. As of June 29, 2021, the Making Edmonton Digital program has helped over 510 businesses improve their online presence, and has a satisfaction rate from participants of 93%.

Get Digital

In response to businesses outside of Edmonton showing great interest in the Making Edmonton Digital program, Get Digital launched in June 2021 to help Leduc and Wetaskiwin businesses. The MED team partnered with municipalities to set up a similar program for businesses outside of Edmonton to access these services. Student digital consultants from the University of Alberta work with businesses for up to 12 hours according to their needs to help raise customer awareness, and ultimately drive traffic to their online or physical storefronts.

Go Digital SASK

We were able to expand the Making Edmonton Digital initiative eastward under the management of Community Futures Sunrise headed from Weyburn, Saskatchewan. We provided the reporting, tracking, and administration materials for the new Go Digital Sask program, based on our own learned experiences. As well, a week of virtual training was administered by one of the Making Edmonton Digital consultants to the Go Digital Sask team. By the end of the collaboration, the Saskatchewan group was ready to start up their own project, backed by the fundamental knowledge and materials provided by Making Edmonton Digital.
